On March 31, 2018 at approximately 6:30 pm a student reported a possible B&E of a motor vehicle in the parking lot located behind McCormick Hall. UNCG Police Officers arrived on scene and observed damage to the front passenger window of the vehicle. Officers spoke with the reporting party and then contacted the owner of the vehicle to report to the scene and check the vehicle for missing items. The officers were then able to return to the UNCG Police Department and view video footage from surveillance cameras located in the parking lot where the vehicle was parked. Officers were able to see a clear image of the suspect and noted that he matched the description on an individual that officers had observed walking near the Great Stops Store on W. Gate City Blvd. earlier in the evening. Officers responded to the Great Stops Store and located the suspect and identified him as 44 year old Benjamin David Wilson. Wilson was arrested without incident and charged with B&E of a motor vehicle, larceny, possession of stolen property and injury to personal property. Wilson was also served with four unrelated outstanding warrants at the time of his arrest. Wilson was placed in the Guilford County Jail under a $20,100 bond.
