Campus Community Partners

At the University of North Carolina at Greensboro we believe that a safe campus is cultivated, in part, through community partnerships. The UNCG Police work hand-in-hand with many groups and organizations to share resources and expertise to build a strong, safe and prosperous university community. We are partnering with the city, neighborhood associations, area businesses, and off-campus student apartment complexes to help make the surrounding campus community safer. In the university community, businesses play an important role in community stability by providing goods, services, and employment opportunities. A thriving business community is indicative of a strong local economy and a good quality of life. Businesses also contribute to social cohesion by providing areas for residents to interact casually. Amoung the local businesses surrounding the university, both apartment complexes and residential properties lay intertwined to form the community. At the UNCG Police Department we believe in working hand-in-hand with numerous organizations and groups to share resources and expertise in order to build a strong, safe, and prosperous university community.

The Campus Community Partnership Program has reached out to over 30 local merchants and apartment complexes surrounding the university. Being completely voluntary, this program reaches far beyond the first initial visit. As contact continues between the community and the department, each visit serves as yet another opportunity to build bonds and form friendships. As the program continues to grow, our outreach will expand to places such as the City of Greensboro, neighborhood associations, area businesses, and more off-campus student apartment complexes.
