CALEA Public Comment Portal
The UNCG Police Department takes part in the CALEA Law Enforcement Accreditation process. As a part of this process, we supply an opportunity for public feedback via the CALEA Public Comment Portal.
The purpose of this public portal is to receive comments regarding our compliance with CALEA standards, engagement in the service community, delivery of public safety services, and overall candidacy for accredited status. These comments can be in the form of commendations or concerns.
The overall intent of the accreditation process is to provide our agency with information to support continuous improvement, as well as foster our pursuit of professional excellence. It is important to know that CALEA is not an investigatory body and subsequently the public portal should not be used to submit information for such purposes.
Additionally, there will be no response other than acknowledgement to submissions; however, the information will be considered in context to its relevance to compliance with standards and the tenets of CALEA® Accreditation. CALEA Standard titles may be viewed on the CALEA website. The level of accreditation the UNCG Police Department takes part in includes only those applicable standards that are in bold.

Accident Report
Request a copy of an accident report using the UNCG Police electronic crash report database. To receive a crash report you must have one of the following criteria: report number, date of crash, driver’s name, or street name of the crash.
Copies of Police Reports
North Carolina State General Statue §132-1.4, includes the following as public record information: (1) the time, date, location, and nature of a violation reported to the police; (2) the name, sex, age, address, employment, and alleged violation of a person arrested, charged, or indicted; and (3) the circumstances surrounding an arrest, including the time and place of the arrest, as well as a description of any items seized in connection with the arrest. When available, this additional information is typically included in the public information version of the police report.
