05/15/2012 10:47am On April 27, 2012, Dalton William Green, a UNCG Student, was arrested on campus by UNCG Police Detectives for Conspiracy to Commit Armed Robbery. He was later released from the Guilford County Jail on a $5000.00 bond.
On May 3, 2012, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Violent Criminal Apprehension Team assisted UNCG Police Detectives with the arrests of two additional subjects involved in the robbery.
DeRyan Neal Green, 2933 Symphony Woods Drive, Charlotte, NC, was arrested on warrants for Armed Robbery and three counts of Second Degree Kidnapping. As of Friday morning, Green was being held on a $200,000.00 secured bond at the Charlotte-Mecklenburg County Jail (Green is not a UNCG Student).
Nicholas Alexander Williams, 7444 Prindle Lake Drive, Charlotte, NC, was arrested on warrants for Armed Robbery, three counts of Second Degree Kidnapping, and Felony Possession of Gun on School Grounds. As of Friday morning, Williams was being held on a $200,000.00 secured bond at the Guilford County Jail (Williams is not a UNCG Student).
The incident occurred on April 24, 2012, when UNCG Police began investigating a robbery and assault that was reported to have occurred at Jefferson Suites, 1501 Spring Garden Street, around 12:55AM. The suspects entered the dorm and confronted the victims on the elevator. The incident is still under investigation and no further details are available at this time.
03/06/2012 4:52pm Campus Notification The UNCG Police Department has recently received numerous calls involving a suspicious male asking students for money on campus. Reports state that the male falsely identifies himself as a basketball coach from Charlotte. He states that he is stranded and needs money for gas. The subject is known to be very professional and polite. The UNCG Police Department has identified the subject as Reginald Lamard Torrence, who is 6’4” and weighs approximately 200lbs. Torrence has been seen driving a black or dark blue Dodge pick-up truck or a white four-door 1989 Honda Accord, NC registration VPY9150. If approached by this person, do not give him money and notify the UNCG Police Department immediately. |
